The opportunity

As a Marketing Operations Manager at Anecdotes, you will be instrumental in optimizing our marketing operations foundation. You are a strategist and hands-on implementer, and thrive in managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment. You will make predictions about the quality of the sales and marketing pipeline and spot efficiencies that will make the company work better as a whole. This role provides continuous support across lead and campaign management, email development, marketing operations, and operational strategy.

You will be measured by audience database KPIs and overarching business pipeline targets owned by the marketing organization .Success results in efficient and accurate customer-centric operations, optimized campaign execution, data-driven decisions,  and tangible contributions to pipeline growth and customer retention.

This position is aimed for candidates based within the Vancouver area (CA) & will report to the Director of Demand Generation, based in the US (East coast)

What you’ll be creating:

  • Operational Excellence:
  • Responsible for operational processes, systems, and frameworks to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the marketing organization.
  • Identify technology or areas for process optimization that drive initiatives to maintain operational excellence.

System Optimization and Marketing Technology Management:

  • Support the optimization of our current tech stack which includes HubSpot integrated with Warmly, ZoomInfo, and Gong Engage.
  • Conduct regular system checks, assist with configuration adjustments, and maintain data integrity across platforms.
  • Help evaluate future tools for enhancing the tech stack and marketing performance. Integrate new tools into the tech stack.

Data Privacy and Accuracy:

  • Adhere to data privacy best practices and laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Validate marketing data and performance, and maintain performance tracking frameworks in collaboration with Business Intelligence (BI) teams.

Lead and Campaign Management:

  • Provide ongoing support for lead scoring and funnel management.
  • Assist in refining scoring models, list uploads, and lead flow processes.
  • Standardize tracking across marketing channels and implement automation and attribution strategies.
  • Manage campaign target lists, list integrations with other tools, and create segmentations.

Email Management:

  • Support email campaign management, including nurture sequences and BDR sequences.
  • Assist with email creation, campaign setup, and performance tracking to align with team goals.
  • Understand and monitor email deliverability factors and regularly review our inbox placement.

Sales Support:

  • Offer assistance for sales-related tools such as Warmly and Gong, including territory adjustments and data management.
  • Support automation processes, handle ad hoc requests and ensure seamless operation of related tools.

Documentation and Training:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including a marketing glossary and process guides.
  • Provide resources and support for team members to familiarize themselves with new tools and processes through self-guided learning and ongoing updates.
  • Meet with the Sales team to onboard and offer training / communicate marketing technology standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest digital marketing trends, technologies, and industry best practices, and propose innovative ideas to enhance campaign performance.

Strategic Advisory and General Marketing Operations Support:

  • Provide ongoing strategic insights to align marketing efforts with business goals.
  • Assist with campaign reporting, enhance BDR workflows, support data enrichment, and help leverage our martech stack.
  • Contribute to top-of-funnel automation and MQL quality analysis.

Reporting

  • Using relevant analytics tools, work with the marketing leadership team to identify key trends to provide actionable insights to improve marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Establish robust reporting mechanisms that will measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement across lifecycle stages, pipeline, content, channels, and campaigns.


What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in marketing operations or a related role.
  • Expert marketing operations proficiency with HubSpot required. Working knowledge of Warmly, Gong, ZoomInfo, Chilipiper or similar sales and martech platforms. ABM platform knowledge is a plus.
  • Understanding of marketing attribution models.
  • Attention to detail with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Strategic problem solving and critical thinking at a systems level across people, processes, and technology in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • An “always learning” mindset, staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in sales and marketing technologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Past experience leveraging AI and technology to enhance marketing operations and customer experience is a plus.
  • Full professional fluency in English.
  • Ability to work async and collaborate with multiple teams at once across time zones.
